Statics is a "must have" mobile software for every engineer (in particular civil or building), architect, Statics and Building science student!

In fact its a fast standard beam solver (currently arches, supported, cantilever, inclined, fixed - fixed and fixed - supported beams loaded with forces, moments and distributed loads) that calculates moments, shears, axial forces, rotations and lowerings by simply inserting input parameters (many of them are also suggested by the program itself, like Youngs modulus or materials weight). Its also possible calculate the area moment of inertia for rectangular sections.
You dont have to bother about the measure unit system, because you can choose between metric and imperial one.

Design &/or check steel beams using the most common steel sections for every kind of statics and by controlling the maximum lowering allowed (L/250, L/400, L/500).

The program also has a list of all standard equations used to solve the beams, so you can easily know what is the general equation for every case.

Pros and cons of Statics (Civil Engineering) app for iPhone and iPad

Statics (Civil Engineering) app good for

Great app! Clean interface, robust information. To the other reviewers: go into your iphones general settings app, then scroll down to the statics icon and switch units.
Great app. Works well, to the point exactly what I expected. Glad I got it

Some bad moments

This app could really be usefull if you could depend on it giving correct answers. The very first time I attemped to use it it gave an obviusly incorrect result for the shear in a simply supported beam with a single concentrated load in the center. It seems unlikely that is the only error in the whole app if you find it on the first use. If you cant rely on the results it is not of any use. I am sure the developer knows a lot about the subject but there cant have been much checking for this app. I will keep watching to see if my experience was a rare event. I hopecit was.
Please I want to know how it can solve continues beams. Urgent And thank you.
What is the point of buying this app??! You cannot make your own body diagrams, you can only change the values of the diagrams already set. Want my money back.
Useless app I bought for my statics class. They should offer a limited free version to try before buy. Big waste of money for me.
